Born in 1996 in Gdańsk, Poland, Michał is a commercial and film director.
He directs advertising campaigns for brands such as McDonald’s, Xiaomi and House, creating performance-driven stories built around humour, strong characters and relatable human situations. A graduate of the Directing Department at the Łódź Film School (2023), Michał works particularly well with actors, bringing natural performances and subtle comic timing to commercial storytelling. His work combines cinematic craft with a sharp understanding of contemporary online culture.
As a representative of the social media generation, Michał feels naturally at home in the language of TikTok, Instagram and social-first storytelling. For him, platforms like TikTok are not just distribution channels but a creative environment where stories, humour and characters evolve together with the audience.
Before turning to directing, Michał worked as a reporter at Gazeta Wyborcza, which shaped his sensitivity to people, everyday behaviour and small authentic details – something that continues to influence both his commercial and narrative work.
Alongside commercials, he also directs fiction and documentary projects. Michał is a winner of more than 60 awards on Polish and international festivals, e.g. in Palm Springs, Brussels, Gdynia, Tbilisi and Brest. His debut short film A Dead Marriage (2022) screened at more than 45 festivals in 19 countries and is currently available on Disney+ across EU. His next short film, Be Somebody (2023), was awarded at the Krakow Film Festival and the Polish Film Festival in Gdynia among others. He also directed the short documentary Strawberry Boys (2019).
He is particularly interested in stories that balance humour and tenderness, finding small moments of truth in everyday situations.
